Sfantu Gheorghe: amazing welcome ceremony

After much preparation and some preparatory video conferences, and after a great effort from the teaching team of Colegio Mijael Viteano (Maria, Dana, and Ionella), the day of the inaugural celebration arrived. It was time to meet the entire group of students who will participate in the first mobility of Erasmus Project K220 "The New Values of Democracy for Today's Europe".

The weekend served for the reception of the different teams. Firstly, the Spanish arrived on Saturday afternoon, followed by the Croatians in the evening, and on Sunday, the Portuguese, Greeks, and Poles arrived. All the students were welcomed by very generous and kind families who gave their best to ensure the well-being of the hosted students.

The day began in the auditorium of the "Bod Péter" County Library. It is a public encyclopedic library of great regional importance, intended to satisfy the cultural and informational needs of the multiethnic community of Covasna County. It does not discriminate based on social status, economic status, age, sex, political allegiance, religion, or nationality and mainly focuses on a collection of edited documents in Romanian and Hungarian.

The inauguration ceremony couldn't have been warmer. It was a demonstration of the rich and varied Romanian and Hungarian folklore of the Transylvania region. A musical festival with beautiful voices, Spanish guitar, and native dances. Also, the presentations from the different teams of participating countries were diverse and very attractive.

Afterward, a talk for teachers and students titled "News Avoidance & Disconnection in Europe. Are we getting away from manipulation or just choosing our manipulators?" was offered by the entrepreneur and local media owner Dani Santa. It was an open discussion about our sources of information and everyday biases.

The morning finished in the school canteen with local, typical Easter food. Quantity and quality. Then the students were divided into groups and participated in an activity, "The treasure hunt", with challenges and clues to explore and get to know the city.
